Gastroenterology Services
Colonoscopy is the gold standard for colon cancer screening. It is also highly effective for evaluating common gastrointestinal symptoms, including rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, and unexplained changes in bowel habits.
Upper endoscopy is a procedure used to examine the upper digestive tract. It allows doctors to directly visualize the esophagus, stomach, and the upper part of the small intestine (duodenum) to accurately diagnose conditions causing symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, abdominal pain, nausea, or unexplained bleeding.
Hemorrhoids are swollen veins located in and around the anus. Our specialists offer hemorrhoid banding, a safe and minimally invasive procedure. During this painless treatment, the hemorrhoid is tied off at its base with a small rubber band, cutting off its blood supply. This causes the hemorrhoid to shrink and fall off naturally, providing effective symptom relief.

Dr. David Tenembaum will soon be performing colonoscopy and upper endoscopy procedures at the newly developed Rego Park Endoscopy Center, a boutique, Article 28-certified ambulatory surgery center designed to provide an elevated patient experience.
